The New Home For My Writing Is...

Due to Substack’s shenanigans, the new home for my writing is…

the new blog section on my main website!

Truth be told, I wanted to start a new blog to make some more writing-centric posts that didn’t fit the tone and aesthetic of my Instagram. I tried using Substack for this purposes, but found that the platform really encourages you to make your posts be these long article style essays, which is maybe too formal for what I want my writing to be… hence why I only ended up making two posts.

The other much bigger reason I am moving my writing is due to Substack’s TERF problem. Articles like this one will do a much better job explaining how Substack promotes transphobia, but needless to say I no longer wish to support this platform until these issues are addressed.

I’ve mirrored my two Substack articles to www.geraldomercado.com/blog and will be putting all of my future writing there from now on. If you are one of the few dozen people who supported my writing, please follow me on Twitter and Instagram to be updated when new (and more casual) writing shows up on my blog.
